Average Interview – Overall Positive Experience – Yes, and I accepted – Tue, 25 Aug 2015

Interviewed Aug 2014
After an info session on campus, students were invited to drop their resumes. A selection of students were extended interviews which also happened on campus. There were 5 recruiters--two were present in the actual interview. One asked the questions and only listened, the other was the designated note taker. The other three recruiters sat in a separate room with snacks and each other, chatting with whoever was going to interview next. They made the students feel very comfortable and in no way acted as if they were judging you before you entered the interview. I do think they probably were trying to get a sense of your personality though. Be yourself and take the opportunity to get comfortable with them! The two recruiters interviewing potential candidates would switch out after a certain number of interviews. They were on campus for I believe two days doing interviews, and got back pretty quickly with offers for internships.

Interviewed Sep 2014(took 60 days)
The interview was really laid back (for an interview) and focused entirely on behavioral questions. I got an offer really quickly. After accepting, there is a relatively long period of not hearing anything. No salary, moving benefits, work location, or what I'd work on. About a month before leaving, my supervisors contacted me and helped me with my questions. The relocation team was great with answering any questions.

Went through a placement agency first for initial testing of office suite and typing. Then actual interview with manager, HR and supervisor. Very friendly and easy to interact with. They went over your resume and gave a few options of jobs available to see what would be the right fit. Very causal style of questions and querying of previous job and job skills from that.

Difficult Interview – Overall Neutral Experience – Yes, but I declined – 1 of 1 found this helpful – Mon, 21 Sep 2015

Interviewed Sep 2015 in Houston, TX(took 31 days)
spoke with the company at a career fair; you had to have above a 3.4 GPA to even be considered for an interview.. and they were somewhat degrading towards people that didn't meet that mark. First round interviews were held on campus within the next 3 days, and second round interviews were held in Houston. The day was spent with multiple people from different roles for a series of interviews.

My interview process was good. I was a return intern, so I had a phone screening in order to be in the cost engineering role. This would not be the interview experience if you have not had a previous experience with the company. The phone screening was a conversation based on if I was a good fit for the team and vise versa.

One on campus behavioral interview with a recruiter. Their turnaround time is pretty quick, I heard back the next day. Just be sure to be ready to talk about everything listed on your resume.

Very Easy Interview – Overall Positive Experience – No – Tue, 29 Sep 2015

Interviewed Sep 2015 in Hoboken, NJ(took 1 days)
The interview process consisted of applying on the Campus portal (submitting resume) and applying on the ExxonMobil website. Very simple and very easy. (Make sure to submit a cover letter). I got an email on Thursday September 10th, 2015 from our Career Services Office stating I had been accepted for an interview for the following Wednesday. I prepared interview questions based on the STAR method. This is important for an ExxonMobil interview. The interview itself was very laid back and relaxing. It was two interviewers, one of whom was potentially being trained and the other was a long-time interviewer. I enjoyed the interview greatly and I assumed that I had atleast made it to the second round. Unfortunately that was not to be. This was the email I received a week later: "Dear [Candidate], Thank you for taking the time to interview with ExxonMobil during our recent campus visit. We have reviewed your background and interests relative to the needs of hiring organizations. Unfortunately, we do not have a suitable opportunity for you at this time. We appreciate your interest in ExxonMobil and the opportunity you have given us to consider you for employment. Sincerely, ExxonMobil Recruiting" This is important for the ExxonMobil Interview: They know you are smart and can do the job. They want to see if you can fit in the culture. You could have the most fun interview in the world but if you don't match their corporate culture, they will not hire you. Everyone who gets the interview has done Co-ops, research, internships, managed big organizations, maintained very high GPAs, and more. Its all about PERSONALITY. I have interviewed three times and managed to fail on the first stage all three times in succession (2013, 2014, and 2015).

On-campus interview at university. Alumni from your major conduct the interview which places you on friendly territory with a common background. Typical behavioral questions for the interview. Interviewed Nov 2012 in Fairfax, VA(took 30 days)
I got the initial interview on campus. It has typical behavioral (at least I can't remember any technical part). They wanted to know about how I managed time, how I deal with difficult people, what do I do to meet deadlines, what do I do when I get stuck in a problem, etc. Second round was at headquarters and it was a day long interview with 30-45 minute sessions with about 5 different people. They were all one on one. All of them behavioral.
